The Xfinity Center (originally the Great Woods Center for the Performing Arts and commonly Great Woods) is an outdoor amphitheatre located in Mansfield, Massachusetts. The venue opened during the summer of 1986 with a capacity of 12,000 which was expanded in 1994 to 19,900 split into reserved and outdoor lawn seating. Today, the Xfinity Center is one of the premier performance venues in the United States and continues to be recognized as one of the top amphitheatres in the country by industry mainstays Pollstar and Billboard, including being named “Top Amphitheater of the Decade” in 2010 by Billboard Magazine. The season for the venue is typically from mid-May until late September and features 35-40 world class live concert events per year.
